Equipo Qustodio
Expertos en seguridad digital
Qustodio, leader in parental control software, and Movistar Chile, leading telco in Chile, today announced their partnership, expanding the company’s reach into Latin America, its relationship with Telefonica on a global level, and giving families in the region easier access to the leading digital safety and wellbeing tool.
Qustodio has 2 million worldwide users, and Chile is among the 5 countries with the most users in South America.
Thanks to the partnership, Movistar Chile customers can pay for the Premium version of the Qustodio product directly via their mobile bill, without the need for credit cards and with a 50% discount. That is $1.990 per month compared to $3.750, the normal price for non-customers.
“There’s no denying the benefits the online world offers. However, creating a healthy digital mindset starts at home, and it’s parents who have the chance to build a relationship with their child and technology. Our partnership with Qustodio is about ensuring access to key digital services, such as the Qustodio Premium subscription at half price (just $1,990 per month), which for the first time is payable as part of customers’ mobile bill, eliminating the need for credit cards,”
– Carlos Carvajal, Product and Service Manager at Movistar Chile
“With this partnership, we’re excited to expand both our reach into one of South America’s fastest growing markets and our relationship with Movistar, one of the region’s strongest telco providers. But, above all, we’re eager to work with Movistar Chile because, together, we can empower even more families with the most robust tools and timely insights they need to keep their children safe online and to help everyone use digital devices in a smart and healthy way.”
– Eduardo Cruz, CEO and Co-founder of Qustodio
What families can do with Qustodio
Qustodio is an application that can be installed on smartphones, PCs, and various other mobile devices, giving parents complete visibility of their child’s web, social, and app activity, and the option to manage it online, on various screens, and on different operating systems at the same time.
A free version of the app is available, which allows parents to protect one device and one child. The Premium version grants full access to all features, allowing up to five devices to be protected at the same time to fully cover your child’s online activity.
Main Qustodio features:
- Block inappropriate content, such as websites aimed at adults, betting, or anything else deemed inappropriate for children.
- Block app & game use and set daily time limits.
- Track calls and SMS on your child’s smartphone and block unwanted numbers.
- Real-time geolocation to track your child’s device location.
- Panic button for kids to activate in case of emergency.
4 steps to set up Qustodio with Movistar
1. Go to https://store.movistar.com and select Qustodio.
2. Enter your Movistar phone number in the Subscribe section. Confirm your number using the confirmation code you’ll receive via SMS.
3. Next, you’ll receive a welcome SMS you can use to access the application and create an account.
4. Now you can access Qustodio and start managing and supervising your child’s online activity.
You can quickly create profiles for your child, by entering their name, age, and gender and selecting an avatar. Start your session using the account you created and select whether you are using your own device (to set up the parent dashboard) or your child’s device. If it’s your child’s device, Qustodio will request access to start monitoring.
Carlos Carvajal concluded:
“at Movistar we want to make the world more human, by connecting people’s lives. That’s why we’ve made a strong commitment to the proper use of technology and social networks that can be seen, among various other initiatives, on the www.dialogandomovistar.cl website, in advice for kids and teens to enjoy safe online experiences, in online campaigns to promote children’s internet safety; and in continuing to highlight the fact that technology should bring us closer to family and friends, not isolate them.”
